The Yak
My yak . . . my beasts without burden. They put the thunder back into
my heart. They also run my life; I'm a slave to my yak and morning
coffee. There's few things in life as endearing as viewing the full
moon glow like a giant ball of kryptonite in a starlit sky then witness
an unscheduled lunar eclipse as it momentarily blots out by a
yak-tossed lawn chair or hear the pleasant clang of a feed bucket
ricocheting off the house at 2 AM or perhaps watch the whole gang
sail down the meadow, tails erect reaching for the sky, heading off
towards another breathtaking sunset. Each yak is equipped with a
unique personality complete with individual quirks . Click on the
picture to the right to meet the gang and access to some yak tales
and info.
The Australian Shepherds
What kind of homestead would be complete without a working dog
or two to make life easy? How about 5? Life with 5 young
Australian Shepherds is anything but easy. But it is enjoyable and
full of hilarious stories to tell. Meet "Brother Trouble and the Sisters
of No Mercy" by clicking on the puppy picture at the right. Life has
never been the same since they came aboard to help herd the yak.

Bad Place for a Nap
This sure gets my heart
going first thing in the
morning. What appears to
be a dead yak in the
driveway is just one of the
girls deciding to take a
nap.
